A homeshare opportunity for someone who loves the outdoors and enjoys country life!

An older lady is looking for a warm, friendly lady companion, or a couple, to move into a small cottage adjacent to her home as part of a homeshare arrangement. The accommodation on offer is gorgeous - the companion will have sole use of a newly renovated cottage, all in exchange for 15 to 20 hours a week of their spare time as well as company.

🗺️ LOCATION:

The home is a 15 minute drive from Chippenham train station, which has regular services to London Paddington every half hour. This is a rural setting, so being a confident driver is essential as there is no public transport nearby. Use of a car is available for the companion if they need this. Please note, we are not able to share the exact address.

🗝️ THE HOUSE:

The older lady lives in the main farmhouse next to the cottage. The cottage on offer has a double room with a double bed, built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, TV unit and sofa, plus its own small kitchen, as seen in these photos. The cottage is currently being fully renovated and will be ready by the end of September. There is an en-suite shower room (shower only, no bath), and plenty of space to work from home comfortably, with WIFI and parking included. The cottage is a good size for one person, and it is a bit small for a couple! Outside, there's a beautiful, expansive garden with incredible views to enjoy. A friendly dog would be very welcome — there's already a small lurcher who lives in the main house (not the cottage), so sadly a cat wouldn't be a good fit.

🛌 THE IDEAL COMPANION:

The older lady is hoping to meet a friendly companion or a mature couple who can offer around 15 to 20 hours a week, mainly in the early evenings and some weekends. This would include some company, cooking 3–4 evening meals together, walking the dog, setting the wood burner each evening and the occasional lift out and about. This would suit someone working from home, hybrid, or from an office nearby. The older lady is good company; a keen Radio 4 listener, she reads the Daily Telegraph, loves the daily crossword, and enjoys cards and simple board games. She was a keen gardener in her day too! She has help most mornings, and a lovely, supportive family close by. She does experience some very mild memory issues.
