Householder benefits

Share my Home specialises in matching you with a trusted companion. Someone with a willingness to lend a helping hand when you need it.

Regular, reliable home help

Having an extra pair of hands at home, is incredibly beneficial, no matter what your situation.

Whether it is assistance with cooking an evening meal, popping out to the shops, or getting on top of some admin jobs – companions provide an agreed 10-15 hours of support per week.

*Based on the London living wage this equates to £450 worth of home help per month

Mutually rewarding

Our older customers like to help others. They also enjoy company and look forward to a friendly face coming home to them at the end of the day. Homeshare living is of mutual benefit to both the older person and live-in companion.

Shared interests

Our companions are people of all ages and share our core values of kindness, commitment, and integrity. Homesharing can be a great opportunity to share and learn new hobbies and interests. We see many of our homesharing matches flourish into friendships.

Living well at home

This live-in arrangement is known to have considerable health benefits, enabling an elderly person to preserve their independence by staying in their own home - contributing to a more fulfilled sense of wellbeing.

+ 1. Get in touch

Simply email or telephone or send your details on the form below, and we will contact you on that day.

+ 2. Planning your homeshare living requirements

It’s our job to understand what’s important for you when sharing your home, and the support you’d be looking for. We offer a complementary 45 minute consultation.

+ 3. You choose who you want to meet

We create a shortlist of potential companions who are compatible with what you are looking for. You choose which person seems like a good fit, based on your interests and routine.

Our companions go through a series of background checks and a thorough vetting process to ensure they adhere to our high standards. In-keeping with our high quality and safety standards, we only accept a small proportion of applicants.

+ 4. Introductions and trial stay

When you decide who you would like to meet, we arrange an initial introduction. We’ll be with you every step of the way for this initial meet up.

Deciding whether the companion is right for you takes time – which is why we organise a trial stay. This is a great way to feel reassured that the right match has been made.

+ 5. Homeshare agreement and commitment

With both parties happy with the match, and willing to go ahead, the homeshare agreement is drawn up and a monthly subscription of £50 is paid by the older person. Read more about subscription fees.

The homeshare agreement ensures expectations and ground rules are set out from the start.

+ 6. Ongoing support

Your safety and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to deliver dedicated one-to-one support throughout your homeshare. We monitor and facilitate the match and are there when you need us.

Available 7 days a week, we are a responsive team aiming to give you peace of mind.
